COMFORTABLE CHRISTIANITY

Perhaps you've heard of the phrase "Comfortable Christianity". This is often attributed to someone simply living a superficial faith and simply calling themselves followers of Christ without any actual change of life which all who truly believe experience, upon receiving the Holy Spirt which comes when we believe with the will to Obey Christ.

Many sects preach this in the same definition as being Luke Warm, which is defined as only halfway following but still to a point following after the world and living as they did before they believed or claimed to believe. These ones lack the fruits of the spirit and only claim to follow Christ while their actions and the way they live say they still live to the flesh and know no more of following God than to wear a cross around their neck and go to church now and again, while they still harbor hatred, seek vengeance, speak impurely.

James 1:19-26

19 [c]So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; 20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and [d]overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. 26 If anyone [e]among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. 27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

These ones are luke warm, though they attribute this to comfortable Christianity, but know this, that what they often preach as the cure to Comfortable Christianity is often more of the same thing. They teach that only going after their doctrine halfway is the meaning of it, and the cure or way to come out of it is to lean more on them and their doctrinal teachings.

Saying that if you simply go to church more often and to pull people into their building on Sundays, and offer more in the 'donation plate' and stand up to sing hymns and have more joy in reading the scripture, starting a bible study, or being part of "worship teams" etc. Then you will be strengthened in the faith.

Now please I ask that you don't get me wrong, studying scripture and meeting together even if its just 1 or 2 other people who seek to truly follow the Word in whole, of whom that same word is written in their heart drawing them to die to their old selves of the flesh and to live again in the spirit, is without doubt needed and important, the same is said for prayer, True fasting, showing mercy, forgiving those who do you wrong even as you would be forgiven by God.

These and all others are absolutely fruits that you show truly if the spirit of God rests in you. But it is in no way the whole of it.

However what they teach as the way to overcome Comfortable Christianity is often more of the same, and in variations as vast as the number of sects that surround us. Teaching also things against the word, such as pursuing after worldly goods, better health, "victory" which word they teach and or twist as often as they do the meaning of Love with Christ.

These are things that edify them and their desires, using only the appearance of Godliness, upholding their doctrine over that of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

They pertain true following as only things within the blinders that they set on the unknowing and those who know of the word only what is offered to them in flashy sermons and pumped up music. Telling you that being part of "worship teams" and choirs or helping to clean up the yard of the 'pastor' or repaint the church or attend bake sales are things that are pleasing to God. And that you will be seen as more important to the church in doing them, or be "elevated" (as some claim) in doing these things or others like them.

These things and all things like them are not what we are called to do nor what we are to spend our time doing, they serve only to put on blinders to the true call of believers. Which is not some new thing nor something that was kept secret in a closed off room, though it was kept covered by the fingers of those who hold to these sects and various heresies.

Comfortable Christianity is to follow that which is easy to follow. And although many additions and even heresies are attributed to it, they teach feel good Ideas only and often forgo even mentioning dying to your fleshly wants and desires. The fruits of the flesh that todays society world wide has become so accustomed and hold even as sacred even among them. Instead of simply offering a bible when a homeless person has their hand out. Offer a meal instead, and instead of getting that snack that you don't need, If you have 2 coats offer to they who have none, if a widow who is truly a widow and orphan who is truly an orphan are in desperate need infront of you and YOU THINK that simply telling them "We'll be praying for you" is what you are called to do then you have been immensely lead astray. You Have Been Lead Into Comfortable Christianity.

These 50,000+ Denominations teach for the most part, (simply to be seen as going against Catholicism ideology), that you need do nothing but have faith and hand out bibles and pray for people, attend church 'service', and follow the traditions of their Sect. And feel Godly in doing so...

To this Christ himself spoke to the pharisees who followed much the same Ideal. "Hypocrites! You Tithe down to the Mint anise and Cumin But You Neglect The Weightier Matters Of The Law"

Matthew 23:23-26

23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 24 Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel! 25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and [l]self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.

What has always been taught by God through those lead by the Holy Spirit is this. Which few of you likely have heard let alone read, trapped in single boxes of scripture that they tell you to read. May The Lord open your eyes.

Deuteronomy 10:16-20

16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. 17 For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: 18 He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment. 19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. 20 Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.

Yet these things you've likely never been shown in their 'churches' these things have been danced around and avoided for the most part. Though the children of israel were warned time and time again to not only not ignore these things but to live to them, to die to who they were and seek righteousness.

And yet if you've attended any sort of 'service' then it is likely that this was not the basis of it...

Because without the core of the law which has always been Love as God wanted and taught, they are able to twist and alter the scripture to whatever their lusts desire. Often turning themselves into the figure of being Anointed as Christ warned would come, so that people would trust on them and what they say more than the Word of God. Which they readily alter, leave out, or add to in whatever way is needed.

Jeremiah 22:13-17

13 Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work; 14 That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion. 15 Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him? 16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the Lord. 17 But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

I have seen the so called Elders of these sects respond to someone bringing this up, to which they reply in a way that cannot be described other than negligence to feeding Christs Flock. That these things are only good for someone who desires to be "perfect" but not needed.

To which they attribute the knowledge of God to something to be some sort of extra credit.

Comfortable Christianity is not the same as falling to Luke warm Christianity. It is instead following after things that are taught of mans tradition, and in calling that Holy unto God. As they are ever taught to do.

It attributes good works to things such as complimenting someone's outfit and making them feel good, or if someone has a hand out they instead offer a bible in full hypocrisy and against as christ taught.

Or worse they tell them, "we'll pray for you on Sunday".

They sit assured as they are put in "worship teams" which range from instrumental groups to people who's job is to come to the stage (which it is more aptly called most of the time in these sects) and hold up their hands and either pump others up artificially, in clapping to the beat, or some other likeness.

Church counsels are no longer a group of elders seeking to bring their flock to the truth and how to spur them onto maturity in Christ. But instead they invent new ways of having them perpetually feed off milk, of proclaiming faith in God, of repentance from dead works, of baptism (which most deny vehemently), of doctrine which is the teachings if Christ and of God as is shown through the whole of scripture, laying on of hands, and resurrection from the dead, and of eternal judgement (which many yet more alter even that to their whim).

Even though those who feed off only milk is inexperienced in the word of righteousness, but meat belongs to those who are perfect which through experience and are accustomed and ready to move past the basic teachings are able to judge bothgood and evil for themselves.

Hebrews 5:12-14

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Hebrews 6:1-8 which follows.

6 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this will we do, if God permit. 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned

This milk is often all that they teach, where of maturity is for those who are ready and prepared for all good works. Not of hypocritical prayers and handing bibles to those who are hungry (nor of saying "there are food banks and programs for them, we dont need to really do anything")

As the israelytes were warned seriously of saying they didnt need to help the poor because their uear if release would come soon and that would be sufficient, thus excusing themselves from the commandment of God to Love their neighbor... as many do today.

Those who follow any of these sects and their teaching of milk or even false bread, will not inherit the kingdom. So those who have done so in ignorance. I implore you in the name of Christ and for love of your souls as I have for myself. That you repent of this and seek the truth of the word in full.

May your eyes be opened and the spirit give you all understanding, according to your faith if God wills.
